This wonderful young early music ensemble captivated the VRS audience when they made their Vancouver debut at the Chan Centre in 2023 with a stunning all-Vivaldi program. Immediately after that concert, plans were hatched to bring them back!

Founded in 2018 by lutenist Thomas Dunford, the Jupiter Ensemble was born from the meeting and friendship between him and other young, brilliant musicians of his generation. Since then, the Jupiter Ensemble has performed at the world’s most prestigious concert halls to unbridled critical acclaim. We are delighted to present their return to Vancouver with a program inspired by French, German and Italian Baroque depictions of Amazons — fierce mythical female warriors. This is music that is passionate, timeless and virtuosic.

Thomas Dunford gathered together a team of some of the finest musicians of his generation… Brace yourselves for some exquisitely dizzy spells, at the hand of Jupiter.
