CANADIAN DEBUT
Post-performance Talk Back
One of the most thoughtful and sensitive of British pianists.
— The Times
Over the past several years, we have tried to bring Mishka Rushdie Momen to Vancouver for her Canadian debut, and each time we were thwarted by the pandemic. Finally, this season she joins our wonderful roster of musicians. Mishka captivates audiences with her refined and expressive playing. She studied with Joan Havill and Imogen Cooper at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and has taken lessons with Richard Goode and Sir András Schiff at the Kronberg Academy. Her latest recording, ‘Reformation’, presents the works of William Byrd, John Bull, Orlando Gibbons, and Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck performed on the modern piano. The album was described in The Times’ selection of the best releases of 2024 as a “triumph” and topped the classical charts.
