We have watched with pride the soaring career of Leif Ove Andsnes in the years since he made his Canadian debut on our series at the tender age of 22. These days he has ascended into the pantheon of artists whose importance already merits a 36-CD retrospective of his recordings. Celebrated for his commanding technique, searching interpretations and a keen musical mind, Leif Ove is also known for his artfully assembled programs. Those who followed his ‘Beethoven Journey’ over a decade ago will be delighted to note his choice of an all-Beethoven program for this recital.
