Behzod Abduraimov will replace Alexander Malofeev, who was previously scheduled to perform on this date
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CONCERT WILL BEGIN AT 7PM
There was only one pianist we’d consider when faced with finding a replacement for Alexander Malofeev… the ever-so-brilliant Behzod Abduraimov! Behzod first came to our attention when he won the the 2009 London International Piano Competition, where he wowed both the judges and the audience with his rendition of Prokofiev’s 3rd Concerto. He made his stunning VRS debut in 2012 and has returned to our stage a number of times since then. In the intervening years, Behzod has transitioned from prodigy to celebrated career musician, earning comparisons with towering figures such as Horowitz, Cliburn, and Ashkenazy along the way.

SCARLATTI: Sonata in D major, K. 96
SCHUMANN: Kreisleriana, Op. 16
MUSSORGSKY: Pictures at an Exhibition
“This is a pianist with an abundance of ‘style and idea’: both virtuoso command and individuality of voice. Abduraimov’s visionary interpretation is on a par with the very finest. His secret ingredient is an acute awareness of orchestral colours … and an ability constantly to vary timbre and texture without damaging the natural flow.” — Gramophone
Ticket prices: A: $60 B: $45 C: $25
